What's VPN
VPN (virtual private network) is a network that is constructed by using Internet to connect to a private network. The VPN is created by establishing a virtual point-to-point connection through the use of dedicated connections, virtual tunnelling protocols, or traffic encryption.
How VPN works
VPNs use a combination of dedicated connections and encryption protocols to generate virtual P2P connections. All your traffic would go through the VPN tunnel. Even if snoopers can't siphon off some of the transmitted data, they'd be unable to access it on account of the encryption. Refer to the VPN tutorials to setup a VPN on Mac, Windows laptop, iOS or Android phones/tablet.
VPN functions
- Protect your online security
- Stay safe from hackers & thieves
- Prevent third parties from tracking you
- Unblock games
- Access your favorite websites and services
- Surf the internet anonymously
What's VPS
A VPS (Virtual Private Server) is an 'instance' of an operating system running on a larger host. Like you rent some of the resources on a physical server run by a VPS company, which provides a closed environment that acts as if it was a complete physical remote server. You have root level access to the server while still sharing the hardware.
How VPS works
A VPS is created when one massive server is partitioned up so that it can have several servers on it running independently of each other. Virtualization layers are then created to make sure each virtual environment appears as a standalone server with the ability to run its own OS and applications. They work by a concept called as Virtualization. A host device will have a hypervisor installed in it which allocates host device resources to virtual private servers according to a configuration.
The advantages of VPS
VPS provides high speed connections to the internet. It's able to access the VPS from any internet enabled device that has a remote access client such as a smartphone, tablet computer or iPad.
A VPS is commonly used for many tasks from hosting websites to running remotely operated software, such as Bet Angel Professional. It is also great for companies if they have outgrown a shared hosting plan and are not yet ready to leap into the financial commitment involved in owning a dedicated server.
