With Australia data retention scheme come into effect, the online privacy of Australians ends from Tuesday, October 13. From that day, Australia's entire communications industry turned into a surveillance and the digital privacy ended. Since this Internet censorship first allowed in the law from April, Australian Internet users are under data surveillance.
The data retention dragnet will capture the data of innocent Australians and cost millions of dollars, while allowing those who don't want to be caught to remain hidden. The surveillance carries on by at least 21 agencies of executive government. Service providers are now required to retain the full data set as specified in the legislation - that is, they're required to create new data on their customers' activities that they otherwise would never have created. And they're required to store all this retained data securely.
It has been an unhappy week for Australian internet users as the government has recently required mass collection of meta data across the country from phones, text and internet communications. The electronically logged data of mobile, landline voice (including missed and failed) calls and text messages, all emails, download volumes and location information will be mandatorily retained by Australian telcos and ISPs. When you visit a porn site or infidelity site or 'jihadi' content sites, may in effect be discoverable without a warrant.
How to circumvent Australia data retention scheme?
- Use VPN for Australia to change your IP address and location. A destination IP address reveals which web servers a user has accessed and is a form of web browsing history, although it cannot always show specifically what website on that server you were accessing. Here are some VPN tools for those who really want to protect their privacy: Windows VPN or Mac VPN, iOS VPN, Android VPN.
- Use public Wi-Fi hotspots, which aren't covered by the data retention scheme. For example, use the Wi-Fi provided at a council hotspot, library, or university.
- Use a foreign-operated email service, such as Gmail or Hotmail.
- Use a foreign-operated messaging service, such as Google chat, Twitter direct messages, Facebook messenger or Whatsapp.
- Instead of sending a text message, use an encrypted messaging app.
Line has updated a new feature called Letter Sealing on its cross-platform mobile messaging app. It enables end-to-end encryption (E2EE) to protect chats when they're transmitted between users. The idea behind the new feature is to further protect messages when they are being sent, and prevent any unauthorized access during this delivery phase.
Line, an app for instant communications can be installed on electronic devices such as smartphones, tablet computers and personal computers. Line users exchange texts, images, video and audio, and conduct free VoIP conversations and video conferences.
Letter Sealing scrambles the contents of your messages with a key that is only stored on your device and not on any centralized servers. Letter Sealing is the latest addition to LINE's array of numerous security features and programs. The company says this makes it impossible for a third party to read intercepted chats. It's good news for the 211 million Line users across the globe, as they can now chat without worrying about governments snooping on them.
The company plans to use Letter Sealing work with one-to-one individual chats and location sharing, but will be extended to cover other features and devices in the near future. Hidden Chat, time limited messaging feature, and Passcode Lock are a few security features already included inside the messaging app. Letter Sealing is available not only on iOS and Android, but also on both Mac and Windows computers.

The company is raising the cost of its most popular streaming plan to $9.99 a month, which allows customers to watch media on two screens at the same time. While, Amazon Prime memberships pay $99 a year to ship merchandise as well as access to movies and TV shows. With the recent improvement, will Amazon Prime get more viewers than Netflix?
Amazon is contemplating adding online channels to its Amazon Prime streaming service, according to three media executives who have met with the online shopping giant's video team. This month the company also introduced a lower priced $49.99 Fire tablet that it said gives its users access to more than 38 million movies, TV shows, songs, books, apps and games.
Its customers can get unlimited free two-day shipping for eligible purchases and access to Kindle Owner's Lending Library, which allows you to borrow one Kindle book per month from over 800,000 titles without a due date. Members can also listen to "hundreds" of Prime music stations for free.
One likely partner candidate of Amazon would be CBS, which works closely with Amazon in licensing its content for streaming. The two companies announced an agreement on 1st October in which Amazon got exclusive streaming rights to three upcoming CBS summer programs. Amazon Prime also has a good relationship with HBO, meaning that lots of HBO series can be seen on Amazon Prime.
Amazon Prime Video members can download movies and TV episodes for offline viewing to iPhones, iPads, Fire Phones, Android phones and tablets. Netflix subscribers have expected this feature for a long time, but that seems far away at the moment. While, as a Amazon Prime user, you can now start downloading videos and watch them offline. Enjoy the feature while you are in a place where there is no WiFi or 4G/3G network.

Most of us may try to find the best deals hotels and tickets before traveling. Sure, there are good travel websites or agents might save you a few bucks. But using a VPN service is the easy and good way to save money for your business and leisure trips.
Sometimes the ticket prices go up by a hundred bucks, or those awesome tickets you found were just sold out before you had the time to click Book. The most probable reason is that they're trying to make you act fast, before the prices rise even more. Read and get a simple way to save money on your Flight Tickets.
Flight tickets prices vary by location and search times
If you were to book your flight from Brazil rather than the US, it would save a lot! Because flights are sometimes pretty cheap from Brazilian sites. For example, first use an American IP to search Kayak.com for flights from Los Angeles (LAX) to Melbourne (MEL), and I was quoted US$1842. Then, simply changed my IP by connecting to a Brazil VPN server, and did the exact same search, it saves around US$475.
Because you typically keep the same IP address for long periods of time and likely perform searches that personally identify yourself. When you search for the same flight for several times in a few days, the travel sites would increase the price of the same ticket.
How travel companies know your location
Travel websites can detect your location via your IP Address, Cookies and Geo-Location coding on websites. An Internet Protocol (IP) address is essentially your unique "address" on the internet, telling websites where you are located. Cookies are part of the reason that prices change specifically for you. As the travel sites sense that you're doing several searches for the same query, they simply increase the flight’s price. With HTML5 coding, websites can track your location even on your computer.
How to save money by using VPN
Your IP address and geo-location would be hide and changed after connecting to a VPN. All data would went through a special tunnel when you visit the travel sites. With VPN, you get a new IP address from another location, so the travel website can't see where you're truly located! Since you use a VPN to connect to the internet, the websites you visit can only see the address of the VPN proxy server that you are connected to instead of seeing your true IP address. If you are new to VPN or don't have VPN account, read on VPN turorials.
An update to YouTube app includes a new product called YouTube Red. The service enables background playback, this feature has long been restricted to YouTube Music Key subscribers. Google will host a major event on September 29, to launch new Nexus phones and an updated Chromecast. We may hear some information about YouTube Red then.
The new branding only seems to show up as a notification blurb when you leave a video playing in the background as you switch to another app, or as a pop-up when you try to re-entering YouTube through certain means. You must have a fresh install of the Android app for it to work, and it still refers to the service as YouTube Music Key throughout other parts of the software and in documentation. It's still possible YouTube Red will be more than a simple rebranding – the name change hints at a broader set of features for more than just music. The screenshots below show the text in use.
It has been nearly a year since YouTube launched its own music-focused subscription service called Music Key, containing Background Playback, No Ads, Offline Viewing, and More. In the meantime, Google quietly renamed Play Music All Access to Google Play Music Unlimited. Now it looks like Google is about to bestow a similar rebranding on Music Key, turning it into "YouTube Red." Compared to its competitors like Spotify, Rdio or Apple Music, YouTube Music Key is an unnecessarily long name.
Currently, Music Key allows you to save videos for offline playback and listen to them in the background on mobile devices, while also providing all the features unlimited Google Play Music subscription. If you are unable to get the service due to regional restriction or government censorship, a VPN service is the best and most used methods to access YouTube music or videos. VPNs allow users to spoof their physical location - the user's actual IP address is replaced by VPN provider - allowing them to bypass content filters.
